|$0 My Goal: $500.00|
|Congrats! Keep going!|
I’ve decided to participate in Pelotonia again for the 6th time this year. As you hopefully already know, Pelotonia is a grassroots bike tour with one goal: end cancer. To date, Pelotonia has raised over $200 million for cancer research. 100% of every dollar raised is donated directly to life-saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute – the 3rd largest Cancer Hospital in the United States.
Cancer has taken the lives of so many of my family and friends, including my mother, aunt and college roommate. In January 2017, I also lost my best friend of 36 years to an aggressive form of breast cancer. Her passing re-emphasized the importance of life saving research and early screenings. Pelotonia funded research will help The James accomplish the goal of ending cancer.
In 2013, I was handed a diagnosis of thyroid cancer that had metastasized to my lymph nodes and I’ve personally seen the funds raised through this event in action. My own doctor at The James has 2 researchers on his staff that are supported through donations like these. Each time I go into the office for a bi-annual check-up, I participate in research studies as well. Perhaps it’s researchers like these that will help find a cure for this horrible disease.
This year, I’ve set a personal goal to raise $5,000 towards this cause. To help me raise this money – for every $100 donation, I will contribute an additional $25 (which will also be matched by Cardinal Health).
I am writing to ask you to help me raise funds for this incredible event. Large or small, every donation makes a difference. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. By supporting Pelotonia, you will help improve lives through innovative research with the ultimate goal of ending cancer. I would love to have your support, as this is truly a unique opportunity to be a part of something special and deeply personal to me.
Thank you for being an angel to those who need hope and thank you so much for your support! #Rideon
With sincere gratitude.
