This year marks my fifth year participating in Pelotonia, and Pelotonia's tenth anniversary! It's a big year and the bar has been set high. Let's show cancer that it doesn't have a chance against our movement!
I ride for the patients I treated every day at the James, for those who will hear the words you have cancer, for those who lost their battle and those who have won theirs. I ride for the families of patients, so they may spend more days with their loved ones. I ride for the future generations to come, so they will not have to live in fear of battling cancer.
I will be riding for Laura, who I have met through the I Ride for You program. Laura had breast cancer and finished treatment at the James in March of 2011. Her strength and passion to help fight back to prevent others from a similar diagnosis to hers is extremely motivational.
