THIS IS WHY WE RIDE: When you walk into the Radiation Department at The James, you see all walks of life- young, old, mobile bodied, in wheelchairs, Black, white, free of their own will or in shackles. Cancer does not discriminate. Sometimes you can't even tell who the patients are until you see the telltale white hospital bracelet around their wrist. No matter who you are, everyone deserves the top notch care provided by The James. I am a veteran of riding Pelotonia and I am riding for my father, Paul Schroeder, who was a patient at The James in 2013 and lost his battle to cancer on April 24, 2014. I got to see first hand the amazing care that cancer patients receive at The James and it's time to ride in my father's honor and for all of those fighting their battle now. Every single dollar raised-100%- goes to The James and the work they do. Please consider giving any amount you can so that in the future, daughters don't have to bury their fathers before their time.
